PPE - Procedures and Enhancements

The following outlines PPE enhancements to our existing program procedures.  Updated as of August 23, 2022.

Open the flow charts for "what to do if a person is symptomatic" and "what to do if you have been exposed to Covid 19"

This document was written in consultation with educational and health officials, we chose to not only meet but exceed some of the recommended best PPE practices whenever possible to ensure the health of our students and staff.  Every procedure is created and executed to the best of our abilities given both the physical and intrinsic nature of this campus and the people within our Preschool and Faith Church community.

Note:  Definition of ‘Governing Authorities, that we abide by to make these PPE policies/procedures and any future policies/updates are: Federal CDC,  WA State Department of Health (DOH). King County, Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF), WA State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), Issaquah School District, Faith Church and ITBP’s PAT/PMB Team. Any combination of these authorities or one, may cause a change in our procedures. Communication will be emailed and updated on our website as needed.

Campus Practices and Enhancements:
Facial masks are optional for all children and adults when inside buildings.

Intensive cleaning of all preschool spaces including communal area like the restrooms.

All classrooms are well ventilated with windows, filters in the central air system and air purifiers.

We are monitoring our buildings continuously to make that all of our classes and activities are met with clean and organized spaces and resources to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.

Hand sanitizer stations and refillable bottles will be in both Sanctuary and Wesley building classrooms along with approved wipes and sprays.

Promote the use of outside areas as often as possible and as weather allows.

These procedures have been in place for any highly contagious virus i.e. flu, whooping cough, chicken pox etc. as well as Covid-19.  Students will be treated with care and if over 10% of students are infected, we will either quarantine the class or the school guided by the State of WA Health Department and DCYF.

Covid-19 Specific Exposure:

ITBP has adopted WA State DOH (DOH 820 229 / 8.4.2022) COVID-19 Symptom & Exposure Risk Protocol for Students and Staff.

Parents and staff must inform the Preschool Office if their child or staff has been potentially exposed or is infected with COVID-19. Depending on the exposure risk, we will determine if the entire class will be quarantined or just the infected person. We will follow WA Public Health directives if this should arise. Refer to flow chart which can be found on our website.
An isolation room will be available for those students that require to wait for parent pick up should they become ill or injured. (S105 or the Quiet Room)

If for any reason we must quarantine In-person learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will switch our students to our Cooperative Learning Remote model (CL) when it is clear that we will be quarantined for more than 4 days, until we get back on campus. There is no refund or reduction in tuition for this switch in educational model. See Tuition/ Withdrawal policy for details (Family Handbook). Cooperative Remote Learning model will be explained after the start of school or as soon as needed.

Synopsis of the WA State DOH form 820-229*:

Return to Preschool - If you suspect you have symptoms and test positive:
  • Isolate at home.
  • You can return to preschool after 5 days with no fever in the past 24 hours
  • Your child’s symptoms have significantly improved
  • Your child should wear a mask when around others from days 6 – 10.

Return to Preschool - If you suspect you have symptoms and test negative:
  • No fever within the past 24 hours (w/out medicine)
  • You child’s symptoms have significantly improved.
  • If symptoms persist, retest, every 24 – 48 hours.

*When in doubt refer to DOH form 820-229 and/or call your pediatrician for guidance. We understand that children get sick with highly contagious diseases; we ask that you keep your child home if they have any symptoms and/or test positive for an infectious disease or COVID-19. Contact the preschool office by email or the parent #425-305-4753 to let the preschool know of your child’s absence and the reason. We simply ask that you err on the side of caution to help your child have the best chance of a quick recovery and keep his/her classmates and teachers at preschool.
