What we did in 2020-2021 for Remote Cooperative Learning
Our teachers rose to the occasion and continued to provide students with top notch education during our Covid school year putting together packets filled with worksheets, puzzles, science projects, writing sections, math, sight words, and more! Teachers held Zoom chats so students can do sharing, have virtual play dates, story time and art projects all with their teachers in their own living rooms. Through the use of education packets, online videos, Zoom chats and more, we made sure our kids felt love and support from their teachers during that time. We missed them so!
This page will give you information on our remote learning or as we call it Cooperative Learning. You will find information on our Cooperative Learning Models, parent testimonials, teacher videos, pictures of our teachers hard at work and lastly our wonderful students learning and growing even remotely! |

Parent Testimonials:
While quarantine has been challenging, In the Beginning’s cooperative learning model established a sense of normalcy in my daughters life. My daughter continued to grow and thrive during her time using cooperative learning. She was excited every Monday to see what new materials were in her packet. She really enjoyed completing all of the art projects, and I loved that everything we needed to complete them was in the bag! She looked forward to videos of her teachers reading favorite books, and demonstrating awesome science experiments. She really loved that she could watch them over and over again. The Zoom meetings were a really fun way for her to connect not only with her teachers, but also her classmates/friends. It was really sweet to witness their friendships blossom over Zoom and the care they had for one another. While we both long to be in person again when it is safe, we can’t recommend In the Beginning cooperative learning model enough! - Libby C. July 2020
We were so grateful for the opportunity to continue preschool at In the Beginning this past spring through cooperative learning. My boys were able to maintain their relationships with their teachers and classmates through Zoom meetings and videos despite being stuck at home. They loved seeing their teachers do science experiments and read stories to them through video. We were able to continue building their skills through the weekly learning packets. The boys completed fun crafts, practiced their cutting and gluing skills, worked on their handwriting and math, and learned so many interesting things through the various themed packets we were given. While we would love to be returning to school in person this fall, we truly believe with the help of their preschool teachers through cooperative learning, we can prepare the boys to be successful in kindergarten next year. We are excited for the opportunity to continue being a part of the wonderful community at In the Beginning Preschool! - Jessica S. August 2020
When the pandemic caused schools to close, ITBP quickly adapted to remote learning status - making the transition as peaceful as possible for the children during a chaotic time. My daughter’s teachers worked diligently each week to provide creative lesson plans and fun homework packets for each student. The classmates also had many opportunities to reunite on Zoom to listen to teacher-read stories and to celebrate the birthdays that would otherwise have been missed. The teachers were so attentive and prompt in addressing any questions I had. In spite of missing in-person classroom time during quarantine, my daughter learned to read before the school year ended. ITBP’s daily emphasis on letter sounds and handwriting gave her a strong foundation to connect what she had learned in the classroom with reading practice at home. ITBP has prepared my daughter well for her kindergarten year. I thank the lovely staff for the wonderful experiences they have given my child, and give this school my highest recommendation. - Suzanne S. August 2020
The Bunny teachers did a superb job at cooperative learning. They conducted engaging and fun class and individual zoom calls, provided students with incredible learning packets filled with easy to follow arts and crafts including instructional videos for each one. I was pleasantly surprised with how well our bunny responded to this remote learning and am so thankful for the time, thought and effort the Bunny teachers invested in making it work - they really made us all feel so connected during this challenging time. - Jenny M. We were so pleased with the cooperative learning model this past spring. As you can imagine, remote learning with two-year-olds is not easy! Teacher Jeanene and Teacher Jih consistently held wonderful Zoom sessions each week and provided us with an extensive package of activity materials to keep us busy each month. To keep the kiddos engaged, there were themed Zoom sessions such as dedicating specific sessions to each child so they could share their favorite book as well as special items in his or her household. We certainly missed being in person, but we are so grateful for the terrific modifications that the school made to accommodate the pandemic! - Amy K. August 2020
Thank you for the opportunity to express how the previous year (2019-2020) cooperative Learning was for our son. We were relieved when we received the learning materials from Pre-K Teacher Jennae and Teacher Libby. The material was very interesting enough to engage and we have seen a learning curve in him. We sincerely thank you for the effort in creating a strong curriculum for our son. Given the situation of Pandemic we have definitely seen the positive side of his growth nevertheless we are still happy for what we received from you. Though it was lateral entry in my child's case, we still see him connected to the school. I wish the Pandemic ends soon so that we can connect again without any fear. - Sweeya S. August 2020
In the early stages of COVID-19, as our community struggled to wrap our minds around this new virus, the staff and loving teachers at In the Beginning Preschool helped the transition from in person school to remote learning almost seamlessly and in a very timely manner. I know our daughter greatly benefited from these learning tools even more than our neighbors in older grades that attend the public schools. Those friends and families that attend public schools, experienced a significant delay implementing their remote learning models, and the parents were struggling for resources without any direction from their school communities. Hearing those stories, made our family that much more grateful for the opportunity and excellent care and teaching resources ITBP provided. From weekly learning packets to zoom class meetings, the teachers did a tremendous job helping our kiddos stay engaged at home. They looked forward to seeing their friends and practice some of their normal routines like reciting the pledge of allegiance and daily prayer, choice of flag song, share the weather report and work with play dough and Popsicle sticks to create letters and numbers. The packets included worksheets to incorporate the basic skills needed to prep for Kindergarten. There was a good balance of math, writing, reading/site words, science experiments and art. All the art materials were provided to make it more convenient for the parents as well - so helpful! Thanks from the bottom of our hearts and minds. God Bless! - The Lowery Family August 2020
